Rex Ryan Sends Message to Season Ticket Holders

As Jets fans make their season ticket transitions for the new Meadowlands stadium beginning in 2010, they were interupted by a phone call from head coach, Rex Ryan.  When caller ID says the New York Jets are calling, I expected to gain new information about my PSL seats. Instead, Rex Ryan’s voice poured over the phone urging for Jets fans to make the current stadium roar this season during defensive stands.  This message came as a surprise to me but as I listened to the recording I realized Rex Ryan is going to be a hell of a football coach for the New York Jets.  So far he has brought in huge playmakers on defense (Bart Scott and Lito Sheppard) has had a solid draft (Mark Sanchez and Shonn Greene draft and signed), was able to get Jones and Washington to participate in camp, stirred up AFC east rivals (could come back to bite the Jets) and now has pumped up gang green faithfull.  The way he spoke and the things he said made me believe the Jets are going to make something happen defensively on every opponent’s position.  

Now I just wonder why Rex sent this message in June?  Why not send the message a week before the season begins?  Nonetheless, with a tough schedule and a rookie quarterback the Jets are going to need big games out of their defense all season and a 12th man never hurts.
