Get Fired Up Joba, You’re Allowed

Here we go, another Joba Chamberlain article.  It’s not about moving him to the bullpen.  It’s about Joba getting fired up.  I know a lot of people don’t like it when Joba gets pumped up, pounds his chest, and lets out a roar.  I like it.  To them, he is showing up the batter.  To me, he just helped his team.  I like when Joba gets pumped up because it means he just came up big.  He got out of a jam or got a huge strikeout.  It means he is emotionally attached to the game and his performance.  He isn’t just going through the motions.

To be honest, I don’t care how the media and fans of other teams view Joba.  Let them get mad when he gets fired up against their team.  He can pound his chest after every out and I wouldn’t mind.  Results.  That is what I want out of Joba.  When he  lets out a roar it means he just was successful.  So why get mad fans?  It’s not like Joba is the only one that does it.  As long as Joba pitches well and the Yankees win, why try to change Joba?  I don’t care that the old timers say it’s not good for the Yankees image.  I want Joba to win games and if it means that he gets fired up then so be it.
