Sanchez Blames Himself for Loss to Saints

On the fourth Sunday of the 2009 NFL season Jets rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez came down to earth. Nobody in the Jets organization except Mark Sanchez will say he was the reason they lost the game but he sure didn’t give the Jets a very good chance at beating the Saints in New Orleans on Sunday.

“My mistakes killed us,” Sanchez said. “They absolutely killed us. The defense played well enough to win. That whole game is 10-10 without three interceptions and a fumble. You turn the ball over like that in this league, and you can’t win.”

We can’t expect Mark Sanchez to play his entire rookie season the way he played in his first three games. Being a rookie quarterback in the NFL is extremely tough. The guy has had only three career starts heading into New Orleans. There will be growing pains, as there were Sunday. One loss to an NFC team is not the end of the world but Sanchez and the Jets need to bounce back because he Jets next game is at Miami Monday night.
