It’s the same old Jets. An ugly game between the Jets and Bill at the Meadowlands ended with a Rian Lindell 47-yard field goal with 2:44 left in overtime to give the Bills a 16-13 win. The Jets turned the ball over six times, all interceptions, five of them by rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez.
“You turn the ball over six times you’re not going to win too many games,” Rex Ryan said.
The weather was prettier than this game. Both teams had their opportunities but nothing was made of them. It’s boggling how bad of a game this was. The Jets played so well and confident during there first three games that they were poised to handle the lowly Bills. The Bills lost to the Browns 6-3 last week. How could they score against a Rex Ryan led defense? Six turnovers helps. It’s astonishing that the Bills only scored 16 points while forcing six turnovers. It’s like the Bills didn’t know what to do when they took the ball away from the Jets.
Thomas Jones rushed for a Jets record and career high 210 yards. This is the only high note of the game for the Jets. The low point; Mark Sanchez completed 10 of 29 passes for 119 and five interceptions.
The Jets were shutout in the second half and overtime, being outscored 13-0 in that time frame. The Jets rushed for 318 yards and only mustered 13 points. It’s going to be hard for the Jets to swallow this loss. Such an ugly, ugly game that was hard to watch. Penalties and turnovers absolutely killed the Jets.
After starting the season 3-0, the Jets have lost three straight games. The Jets travel to the west coast to play the Raiders next Sunday.
