Joe Girardi’s choice of pitching CC Sabathia on three days rest in game four of the ALCS paid off. Sabathia was brilliant. He was effective and had a nasty changeup that the Angels batters couldn’t hit. In eight innings of work, his only blemish was a Kendry Morales solo home run. Sabathia got into two jams but worked out of them both.
Sabathia has just stymied the Angels in his two ALCS starts. He has given up a total of two runs in 16 innings during his two starts against them.
Sabathia has been incredible this postseason. He has given up a three earned runs in 24.2 innings. The Yankees are 3-0 in his three starts.
