Yankees Causing Buzz Around the City
There’s been a louder, more prevalent buzz around the New York area over the Yankees today. The conversations around the city and on the trains were about the Yankees and Phillies, Pettitte and Pedro, Teixeira and Howard, A-Rod and Utley, Rivera and Lidge, Damon and Werth, and Jeter and Rollins. It’s been six years since the buzz about the Yankees has been this thick and Yankee fans around the city were wearing their colors today. An LIRR passenger told another “See you at the parade” before he got off the train. The two guys behind me were talking about how their kids shouldn’t try to emulate the batting habits of Johnny Damon.
There’s only one way the buzz gets any bigger and that’s if the Phillies force a game seven.
