Yankee Haters Will Always Have Something To Say

Yankee haters have a lot to say about the Yankees’ championship season. They say things like they were supposed to win, they have the highest payroll, their infield makes more money than half of baseball’s entire teams, they have admitted cheaters on their team and the list can go on and on.

Yes, all this is true, but is it not true for other teams? Look at the 2004 and 2007 championship Red Sox. They have players on those teams that have allegedly done steroids. If you want to argue the steroids argument then I ask you to find a team that has won in this so-called “steroid era” that didn’t have at least one alleged or admitted steroid user.

Then there’s the salary debate. first off, the Yankees are playing by the rules. They pay their luxury taxes and follow MLB guidelines. Can you fault a team for having a huge payroll when there is no salary cap? Yankee haters have a problem with that? Don’t watch baseball until a salary cap is in place. Red Sox and Met fans especially should never bring up the payroll argument against the Yankees when they have the next two highest payrolls in baseball.

Even with the highest payroll in baseball the Yankees have shown during the last nine years that it takes more than just high-priced players to win a championship. This year’s team had more of a togetherness. They meshed. The 25 on their roster weren’t 25 different multi-million dollar players. They were one hefty multi-million dollar team. Just because the Yankees’ players make bug bucks doesn’t mean they don’t have to work hard, prepare and grind out a full season.

Enjoy this one Yankee fans. Number 27 is yours and the Commissioner’s Trophy is in the Bronx. Don’t let anyone take this away from you. Your team worked hard and won. Don’t let someone like Rick Reilly ruin your day with this article he wrote about the Yankees and their parade. In the end, Yankee haters are always going to hate the Yankees and find something to try to rain on their parade. Jealousy, envy, whatever the case may be, Yankee haters will always have a reason, or make one up, to hate the Yankees.
