Jets Lose to Patriots 31-14
A rookie quarterback comes with rookie mistakes. Just ask the New York Jets. Mark Sanchez had yet another brutal day, turning the ball over five times, four of which were interceptions. Sanchez’s line wasn’t pretty. He only completed eight of 21 passing attempts for 136 yards with a touchdown to go along with the four picks in the Jets’ 31-14 loss to the Patriots.
New England started the game scoring 24 unanswered points. The Jets got on the board by returning a blocked punt for a touchdown late in the second quarter. They made it a 10-point game, 24-14, in the third quarter, but couldn’t get any closer.
Wes Welker torched the Jets defense for 15 catches and 192 yards. He was wide open most of the time and made some big gains while Darrelle Revis, one of the top corners in the league, shutdown Randy Moss. Moss had three receptions for 34 yards and a touchdown.
The loss puts the Jets at 4-6 and more importantly ends their playoff hopes. As the Mets/Jets fan says on an annual occurrence; Wait until next year.
