I hate to keep harping on Jets losses and living in the past, but if Sanchez doesn’t throw five picks against the Bills and if the special teams doesn’t allow Ted Ginn to have two return touchdowns, the Jets would be sitting in the driver’s seat and in control of their own destiny.
It’s hard not to look back right now and think “what could have been” during a season where the Patriots are beatable and the AFC wild card picture is up for grabs. The stretch of games where the Jets lost six of seven is the backbreaker. The Jets may still be in the race, but three teams in the AFC that have the same record as the Jets (Miami, Jacksonville and Baltimore) currently own tiebreakers over the Jets.
To earn a wild card birth, the Jets will have to win out and hope that the three teams each lose at least once more.
