Yankees Add Outfield Depth, Sign Marcus Thames
The Yankees have signed yet another outfielder. This time it is former Yankee Marcus Thames who played the last six seasons with the Tigers. The Yankees have signed Thames to a non-roster contract.
Thames is most known for hitting his first career home run against Randy Johnson in 2002. It was also his first career at bat. Thames was traded in 2003 to the Rangers for Ruben Sierra.
Thames will fight for playing time with another Yankees’ recent free agent signing Randy Winn.
