According to Gil Brandt of NFL.com:

McKnight (5-foot-10 1/2, 182 pounds), who was not at the NFL Scouting Combine, ran 4.49 and 4.58 seconds in the 40-yard dash, 6.84 in the 3-cone drill and 4.04 in the short shuttle. He also had a 10-foot broad jump and 34-inch vertical to go with 13 bench press repetitions at 225 pounds.

Now, all those numbers are OK. But the fact that Sanchez was there to help McKnight during his workout just might sneak him into the NFL as a seventh-rounder. McKnight’s a good receiver, and catching passes from Sanchez only made him look better.

ProFootballTalk notes that the Jets could be the team to pick McKnight up in the 7th round. If the Jets decide to pass on him and he goes undrafted, I could definitely see the Jets inviting him to camp as an undrafted free agent.

Innocent tweet, but is there an underlying message?

I think it’s pretty clear Ochocinco would love to be a Jet. He spoke about it on his TV show, Darrelle Revis spoke to him about it, and now this tweet to Sanchez. The Bengals are going in the wrong direction and Ochocinco isn’t getting any younger. He knows joining the Jets would give him a chance to win a Super Bowl.

I don’t think the Jets want any part of Ochocinco, however. That’s probably a good thing.

So we’ve been working on a story the last couple weeks about Mark Sanchez’s romancing of a 17-year-old girl. She reached out to us first and agreed to cooperate. Then she didn’t. Then she did again. Now, of course, her lawyer has contacted us.

The entire story of what this legal letter hints at will be revealed on Tuesday. Rest assured, the lawyer has left out a few details. We won’t publish this young lady’s full name, but if the photos she sent to us from her Blackberry of Mark Sanchez’s bedroom — supposedly taken on her cell phone after she spent the night with him a few weeks ago — were not sent by her, then there’s more to this than previously suspected. Most likely, not, though. Just a hunch.

We’ll have to wait until the entire report is released, but this can’t be good. We’ll see. Any report of this kind of matter is troubling.

Same Old Jets.

Sorry, Rex, but you haven’t changed the culture of this franchise just yet.

I’m definitely not the first person to say ‘Same Old Jets’ within the last 24 hours following an awful performance against the Dolphins. The Jets are heading down a bad, bad path. A path that they may not be able to correct. This roster consists of numerous former first-round picks and Pro Bowlers, but as a unit, especially the offense, this team isn’t playing like the all-star team Mike Tannenbaum has tried to assemble.

It’s sad for me to say this, but I have a feeling that the Jets will be looking for their 10th win on January 2nd when the Bills visit the new Meadowlands. And hopefully that 10th win will be good enough for a playoff spot. Right now, I don’t envision the Jets going to Pittsburgh and Chicago and winning either of those games.

The Jets’ defense, the lone bright-spot, played really well in the loss to the ‘Phins, although all the emphasis has been put on the offense’s inabilities. If the Jets’ defense gives that kind of effort every game here on in, the Jets will be one pass, one run, one kickoff return, or one punt return away from winning. But just as we saw in the Jets’ losses to the Ravens, Packers and now Dolphins, you can’t count on the Jets’ offense giving their defense those points that allow the Jets to win when they give up 10 points or less.

After the Jets took a beating in New England last Monday night, I saw it as the Jets getting their butts handed to them by a much better team. Combining a Jets win over the Dolphins and a Patriots’ pounding of the Bears, a top team in the NFC, in Chicago, would have eased the pain of the Jets’ beating in New England just a tad. We would have seen that loss as more of the Patriots being just that good compared to the Jets being just that bad. But losing to the Dolphins makes the Jets look even worse. I thought the Jets would come out on Sunday in front of the home crowd and take it to the Dolphins and put a message to the nation that ‘we’re not staying down, we’re still in this thing’. After the Jets’ abysmal loss to the Dolphins, you can’t say that the Jets are anything but pretenders.

Some other notes from Sunday’s loss:

• Mark Sanchez has to have better ball security.
• Rex Ryan’s bravado is getting old. I have never liked how he talks a hard game, especially when the Jets rarely have definitive wins. The lack of discipline by the team and coaches has showed all season and the tripping play on Sunday just adds to it. This has not been a good year for the Jets organization and I still think doing “Hard Knocks” was a complete joke. Rex doesn’t have to be like Eric Mangini, but he can’t be like Rodney Dangerfield.
• The Jets became overconfident and took two punched to the mouth in two consecutive weeks against division rivals.
• December is not a good month to start falling apart because it’s crunch time and there is less time to correct things and get back on the right track.

A Darrelle Revis tweet (@Revis24) says it all: “Tough game for us but we pulled it off.”

It wasn’t pretty, it wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t fun to watch until a bad Broncos’ snap on a third-down play with seconds left in the game was covered by the Jets to seal the win.

The Jets were on the wrong side of some questionable calls by the referees, but it was a simple, blatant pass interference call against the Broncos late in the fourth quarter that gave the Jets great field position while trailing by three, 17-20. One play later, the Jets were up by four, 24-20.

LaDainian Tomlinson rushed for two touchdowns, both in the fourth quarter, and Mark Sanchez threw two picks, his first two of the season.

This Jets team is resilient, tough, and talented. A great combination that has led to a five-game winning streak heading into the bye. The Jets come out of the bye with a home game against the Packers, a team that has become very average after being a trendy NFC Champion or Super Bowl pick.
